I NEED SUPPORT TO ACCESS THE NDIS - WHERE DO I START?

I HAVE MY NDIS PLAN - WHERE DO I START?

If you have Support Coordination funding in your plan, start by looking for a Support Coordinator that matches your values and is able to cater their supports to your individual needs. They can help you to understand the plan and connect you with supports and services. 

 

If you don't have Support Coordination funding, you could ask your plan manager, LAC, or NDIS Planner for support and assistance connecting you with providers. If you are looking for more support than this, you may be able to access Social Work support to assist you. 

You might find some good suggestions through a trusted allied health professional, your plan manager, LAC, NDIS Planner, or friends and family with connections!

I WANT TO WORK WITH YOU BUT MY BUDGET IS NDIA-MANAGED. HOW CAN I DO THIS?

Beyond Barriers Australia is an unregistered provider. This means we can work with self-managed and plan-managed Participants only. If you have an NDIA-managed budget and would like to work with an unregistered provider, we can support you to contact NDIS to make changes to your NDIS plan making the budget plan or self managed. 

I WANT SUPPORT BUT I DON'T HAVE SUPPORT COORDINATION FUNDING IN MY PLAN. HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Beyond Barriers Australia is operated by a qualified Social Worker. Social Work support is similar to Support Coordination support in many ways and you can access this type of support using Capacity Building or Core funding in your plan. If you are interested to learn more about this, feel free to give us a call to further explain!

If you feel that we can meet your support needs or you are interested in learning more, give us a call or send us an email so we can make a time to chat further.

If we are unable to provide what we need needs, we are happy to point you in the right direction and refer you to another Support Coordinator that can meet your needs. 

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO OUR FIRST MEETING?

Help us to understand you and your support needs by preparing as much information about you  as you can to our meetings. We would love to hear about you directly from you, but it is helpful if you can bring along other relevant information that we may need as well!

(e.g., your NDIS Plan, assessments/reports, any notes or ideas you have about how you want to use your plan).
